How do I find and subscribe to podcasts?

What is a canvas?

A canvas is your visual workspace for creating and organizing podcast clips in Unspool Studio. Think of it as a clipboard for your best moments. Click New Canvas from the sidebar to open a fresh workspace where you'll add episodes, transcribe them, and build clips.

How long does it take to transcribe a podcast episode?

Unspool Studio transcribes most podcast episodes in 2–3 minutes using AI speech-to-text, regardless of episode length. The AI processes audio directly from the podcast feed with no uploads needed, then delivers word-level timestamps and automatically suggests the best clips to extract.

What are AI-suggested clips?

After transcription, Unspool Studio's AI analyzes the entire episode and suggests the clips most worth sharing—standout quotes, key insights, compelling stories, and moments that work as standalone content. Instead of listening through the whole episode to find highlights, you get a curated shortlist in seconds.

How do I export my clips?

Browse the AI suggestions, pick the ones you want, and make any adjustments—trim timing, edit transcript text, or select segments manually. Then export as audio, video with animated subtitles, or text. Choose the right aspect ratio for your platform: 9:16 for Reels/TikTok, 16:9 for YouTube, 1:1 for X. Most users have shareable clips ready within minutes of hitting Transcribe.

How do I navigate Unspool Studio?

The app uses a collapsible sidebar to access Dashboard, My Podcasts, and Agents. Click the collapse button at the top to toggle between full labels and icon-only mode—your preference saves automatically. On mobile, tap the hamburger menu to open the navigation drawer. Canvas pages have breadcrumb navigation at the top so you always know which project you're in.

What's the fastest way to create a podcast clip?

Use AI-suggested clips. After transcription, skip manual scanning and go straight to the AI suggestions—pick the best ones and export. You don't need to listen to a single second of the episode to have clips ready to share. For a detailed walkthrough, see Create Your First Clip.
